| Description: | Pietra Santa Estate, Sangiovese, Cienega Valley, California 2013 92% Sangiovese, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon Bold Super-tuscan Style, Plum, French Oak & Spice Pietra Santa comes through again with this Central Coast Cal-Ital blend that is a ringer for modern Super-Tuscan reds. This 2011 is just released and will definitely hold up for several more years of aging. The Sangiovese character is clear and framed by expensive tasting French oak and the body from a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. This is a chewy, rich full-bodied red with lots of Italian spirit in a California package. Serving Suggestions: The natural recommendation is Steak Florentine, but this would also be prefect with a mushroom Bolognese. |
