In the world of serious red wine, Cain Cuvee stands almost alone. All of Cain's wines are Cabernet blends, and yet the Cain Cuvee takes it one step further\u2014it is also a blend of two vintages (60% 2012 and 40% 2013). At Cain, the whole point of blending is to create a synergy and complexity that transcends the sum of the parts. The winery has been blending two vintages for nearly twenty years, ever since 1998 when it composed its first blend, harmonizing the light and fresh 98s with the more full and lush 97s. That wine has aged wonderfully and is still beautiful today. The two vintages composing the Nv13 Cain Cuvee are two of the richest, ripest, most powerful vintages in the past 30 years. Of these two, 2012 is the lusher and most immediately accessible, while the 2013 is more reserved and more structured. Together, they harmonize beautifully to create the biggest, richest Cain Cuvee to date. But don\u2019t drink it too fast\u2014you will need patience and attention to discover the complexity of this wine.\r\nBlend: 51% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot\r\nCAIN CUV\u00c9E: The Blending Of Both Varieties And VINTAGES\r\nCain Cuv\u00e9e is the most eclectic of our blends because it is not only a blend of multiple varieties, but also of two vintages.
