| Description: | Grape: 40% Macabeo, 30% Parellada, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Xarel-lo. Region: Spain, Penedes, Alto Penedes. Notes: Organic old vines. 18 months aging. No oak. No dosage. The totally dry, no dosage, frothy, Brut Nature reveals hints of oranges, tangerines and honeyed citrus, with well-defined small bubbles and an austere, dry, chalky mouthfeel. It is estate-bottled from their organic old vineyards located in the Alt PenedĂŠs subregion in northeastern Spain, a few miles south of Barcelona- at an elevation of 1,312 ft. The Naveran family legacy began in 1901 when Don Pablo Parellada married the daughter of the Marquis of Naveran, lord of Guernica. After the phylloxera epidemic in the last century, the family replanted the farm with vines of the variety Montonec in memory of his name, which is, over time, known in the world as the Parellada grape and came to be essential to the production of cava in Spain. |
