A delicate, spicy bouquet of white flowers, pear and white peach introduces the 2022 Le Poste, a moderately weighted, enveloping and round white Côtes-du-Rhône. Its juicy texture is complemented by bright acids, leading to a long, delicate finish with subtle almond notes. Tortonian marl at Saint Cosme chapel in the ‘Le Poste' named vineyard. Fermentation in used casks and ageing on fine lees for 10 months. Gunflint, liquorice, grapefruit, bitter almond. The tradition of white wines at Saint Cosme dates back aeons. A tasting sheet from the year 1718 mentions more whites than reds. When my father arrived at Saint Cosme in 1957, there were more whites than reds in the stock of bottles. |
