Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Clos St Jean Rouge 1er Cru (750ML)

Description: | 92 Ws / 90 Bh / 94 Ct. This red is all about the supple texture, which envelops juicy black cherry, blackberry, violet and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Though broad, this is also dense, with sandalwood and mineral elements that emerge on the finish. Best from 2026 through 2040.-Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator. Tasting note: This is aromatically similar to the Morgeot if perhaps slightly more elegant thanks to the violet nuances. There is nowhere near the same volume or richness to the middle weight flavors that are by contrast notably finer while delivering good length and depth on the better-balanced finale though here too there is a touch of warmth even if it's less prominent. In a pinch this could be enjoyed now though I would advise holding it for 4 to 7 years first and also serving it on the cooler side.--Allen Meadows, Burghound |
