| Description: | Soft, ripe Merlot dominates on this blend with Cab Franc. The fresh, plum appeal now has rounded out into decidedly earthy notes. This maturing natural wine deserves a thoughtful pairing with pastured beef, either a meltingly delicious filet or a gourmet burger with truffles. This wine is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc; from vines aged 60+ years old, tended without machinery and using minimal intervention in the cellar. Matured 2 years in barrel, (up to 40% new) and released only after 6 - 7 years of ageing. Chateau Meylet is one of the few remaining small, family-run vineyards in St. Émilion. |
