Vosne Romanee Faiveley

Vosne Romanee Faiveley

Vintage: 2009
Description: 'We are in the presence of a very mixed vintage where the key to success was controlling the yields. We were prepared for it, as the small 2003 harvest meant the vines were bound to compensate, even more so with a rainy summer. Therefore, we were very strict in the vineyards ; the green harvesting was long (in some plots, it was carried out twice : in July and late August). Thanks to the return to sunny weather early September, to the greatly diminished load on the vine stock and to controlling the pressure of diseases(notably oïdium), we vinified very ripe and healthy grapes. The red wines have fine structure ; we find the fruity pinot noir savours in the nose and on the palate. The tannins are tender and very well blended. The white wines have delicate and fresh tastes of great purity counterbalanced by the beautifully proportioned acidity. The whites and reds are already very enjoyable for their fruity tastes and have good cellaring potential.' Region Description. (vone roh mah nay)—This most southerly of the Côte de Nuits villages is home to some of the most prestigious vineyards in Burgundy. Its Pinot Noir grapes produce wines that are extraordinarily rich, stuffed with plums and heavily spiced.
