This excellent 'everyday' whiskey is a blend of triple-distilled single malt (that is at least 10 years old) and Irish grain whiskey (that is least 5 years old) that has been aged in bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks before being blended into this thoroughly drinkable whiskey. The nose shows fresh-cut apple skin, seeds and meat. It is inviting whiskey, rich with spicy oak notes, full malt, clover honey and vanilla. The flavors lead with honey, vanilla, beer, hard candy and evolve up to a sapid burst of toasted oak. The finish is tart, flavorful and warming; it lingers long enough to invite you to enjoy another taste. This is good whiskey; try it neat but also know it is perfect on ice or in a cocktail |
