Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Chardonnay

Vintage: 2022
Description: Winemaker Notes

Bursts from the glass with bright aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and white florals, with an undercurrent of flinty minerality that belies its cool climate origins along the Sonoma Coast. A beautiful tension midpalate elevates the notes of Asian pear and lime which mingle with a vibrant acidity, leading to a clean and refreshing finish.
Food pairings - mushroom & asparagus frittata or Crab Louie

About Crossbarn
Crossbarn + Kitchen Table Advisors

We have partnered with Kitchen Table Advisors to support our local food community by donating a portion of our proceeds to benefit small sustainable farms and ranches.
Our Founder Paul Hobbs was raised on a working family farm and recognizes the challenges of running an agricultural business. The Farmer’s Project program promotes small farms and embodies our shared values of sustainability, love of the land and supporting the community.

The first-hand experience of growing up on a farm made Paul Hobbs notice the influence of terroir on the character of fruit when his father had him taste apples of the same variety grown in different orchards several miles apart from one another. The diversity of flavors and textures made an impression on him and would later influence his approach to winemaking.
After launching his namesake winery in 1991, Paul Hobbs established Crossbarn in 2000 to honor his family’s farming heritage and values of farming sustainably. What began as just one small lot of cabernet sauvignon from the inaugural vintage gradually evolved to introduce chardonnay and pinot noir.
About Paul Hobbs Winery
Regarded as an international visionary for his accomplishments in the vineyard and winery, Paul Hobbs combines his childhood roots on the family farm with an innovative scientific approach to refine the art of winemaking. He is recognized across the globe for breaking with tradition and forging new paths in the pursuit of excellence; both in stewardship of the land, and the crafting of wines that represent the purist concept of place. In 1991, pioneering winemaker Paul Hobbs established Paul Hobbs Winery. The Paul Hobbs Katherine Lindsay Estate in Sebastopol, California, purchased in 1998, would later be the site of his Howard Backen designed winery, completed in 2003. The winery exemplifies his vision and dedication to sustainability and his on-going quest to refine the art of winemaking with minimal intervention, yet meticulous care. Our vineyard designate and appellation wines are a pure expression of our interaction with nature and place, featuring Chardonnay (Russian River Valley, Sonoma Mountain), Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Carneros) and Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley).
