Fresnet-Juillet Brut Rosé Grand Cru Champagne NV
Description: | This rosé Champagne hails from the village of Verzy in Grande Montagne de Reims, which gained its acclaimed Grand Cru status in 1985. Grower Fresnet-Juillet stewards 5.8 hectares between Verzy and Bisseuil and has, since 1952, produced small-lot Champagnes, predominantly Pinot Noir. The family's cellar lies at the heart of their Verzy vineyard, which patriarch Gérard Fresnet started slowly digging by hand in 1952 over 45 years. While digging the cellars, Gérard Fresnet adapted his winemaking technique and built a state-of-the-art winery with the newest machinery—all to improve the quality of his Champagnes and fully express his vines' exceptional terroir. The Fresnet-Juillet rosé is 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, mimicking the plantings spread across the two vineyards. Fermentation occurred in a stainless steel tank, and the wine completed a full malolactic fermentation. Bright and light on the nose, highlighting strawberry and raspberry notes. The delicate bubbles dance across the vibrantly tart palate, making it a lovely pairing for rich, triple-cream cheeses and buttery pastry desserts. - ACME Fine Wines |
