| Description: | Introduced in 1996, Woodford Reserve is a brand of premium small-batch bourbon produced by the Woodford Reserve Distillery, one of the country's oldest still-operating distilleries. The distillery was originally known as the Old Oscar Pepper Distillery and passed through multiple owners before being acquired by the Brown-Forman Corporation who, after extensive refurbishment, re-christened it into its current name. Coinciding with this rebrand, the company also launched an eponymous bourbon brand which was promoted as the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby and used to make the $1,000 mint julep cocktails that are sold to patrons on Derby Day. |
