| Description: | Baglio Di Pianetto produces 100% organic wines with a Sicilian and international soul, displaying both high quality and an eco-sustainable pedigree. This white made of the indigenous Catarratto grape is crisp and pleasurable, versatile and approachable, perfect to sip during happy hour or to serve with fresh fish, white meats or vegetable courses. After the grapes are selected for the best quality and picked, the berries are gently pressed and the must fermented in stainless-steel, temperature-controlled tanks. The wine then matures in steel for 3 months and in the bottle for an additional 2 or more months. Starting with its straw yellow color, this Catarratto displays forward notes of citrus and blossoms, enriched with fragrant lemon zest, orange blossom, and jasmine. On the palate, a zesty acidy complements full, rich flavors. Calling themselves a 'little Switzerland' in the countryside of Palermo, Baglio di Pianetto is where Count Paolo Marzotto understood he could pursue and carry out his oenological research. Located in the municipality of Santa Cristina Gela, in the north-west of Sicily close to Palermo, Pianetto Estate sits at an altitude of approx. 650 m. asl. The vineyards, well ventilated with a high temperature excursion between day and night, offer the ideal climate and soil composition to create wines of great aromatic complexity. A high-hill viticulture, surrounded by mountain forests, basins and small clearings in the heart of the DOC of Monreale, the home of a precious and highly-regarded vine-terroir interaction. |
