Kiona Lemberger
Lemberger
Vintage: | 2018 |

Description: | It would be completely understandable if you didn't know what the word Lemberger referred to in the title of this wine. It's the name of a red grape variety. This grape variety also goes by the name Blaufrankisch in Austria and Germany. This grape variety produces red wines that have wonderful "lift" and vibrant energy. The 2013 version of this all estate grown curiosity displays a light to medium bodied profile, blue fruits and red berries as well as a unique herbed earth note. Dry but fun, chillable but not to be taken lightly, this may be the perfect early summer red. Kiona (a Yakama Nation word that means "brown hills") was the first winery in the U.S. to produce a varietal Lemberger way back in 1980 and they've now perfected the art. Here's to perfection! Food Pairings: Roasted Chicken with Rosemary; Mushroom Tart; Indian Style Rice with Cashews, Raisins and Turmeric |
