| Description: | Wine & Spirits named Klipsun one of the "25 Great Vineyards of the World"; I dont think this means it is a Latour clone, but that is pretty high praise. Stylistically, t he wine leans towards Bordeaux, with restrained fruit, power and grace. Eric Baughner, winemaker of Ridge Montebello has taken over the duties of crafting the wine. A meaty style, with figs, cassis, pencil shavings, umami and cigar box from French Oak. Think of this as an undiscovered version of Quilceda Creek or Leonetti. Impeccably made, it has the balance to age for a couple decades while being drinkable now. |
