Description: | Tasting Note: A Syrah-based blend of six different varietals, including Mourvedre, Grenache, and Tannat. Notes of dark, earthy fruit, rocks, pepper, and some garrigue. A bit of Grenache brings just enough juiciness to the party, and the Tannat funks it up a bit. A good blend. – Abv: 14% Winemaking: The grapes were destemmed and gently pressed to allow fruit-dominant characteristics. Fermented in 11 different batches in stainless steel tanks to produce a wide range of styles, the wine was then blended and matured in neutral French oak for 10 months before bottling. Producer: David Finlayson is the third generation of his family to have played an important role in the Cape's modern wine industry. He learned winemaking at Elsenburg Agricultural College in Stellenbosch and gained experience at Peter Lehmann Wines in Australia and Château Margaux in France. He joined |
