Ladoix, a commune at the northern end of the Cote de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, and adjacent to the famed Corton vineyards, is known for its exceptional wine vineyards, which were planted in the 10th century by Monks of the Abbaye de Citeau. The distinctive soft buttery aromas are due to malolactic fermentation and then it is retained in oak, which contributes to the complexity and adds a smokiness and a touch of vanilla. Â.
