David Arthur Estate 'Three Acre' Cabernet Sauvignon

David Arthur Estate 'Three Acre' Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintage: 2016
Description: Winemaker NotesA dense, dark ruby red color shows savory fruit notes of wild black currant, blackberry and raspberry. The aromas hint at cocoa, wild anise and bay laurel, followed by sage blossom and earthy spice notes. The palate is powerful and rich with fine grain tannins and remarkable plushness. This wine finishes with flavors of baked cherry, cedar-box spice notes and currant. Best from 2019 to 2029.Blend: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit VerdotCritical AcclaimJames Suckling - 95ptsExtremely perfumed with dark berry and hints of tar and dried flowers that follow through to a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Lots of momentum at the finish. Needs a year or two to come together.Jeb Dunnuck - 95ptsThe 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Acre (there's a small amount of Petit Verdot in the blend) is a beautiful, refined example of Pritchard Hill Cabernet. Deep ruby-colored, with a mountain hillside-like bouquet of wild scrub brush, crushed rocks, tobacco, dried herbs and both blue and black fruits, it glides over the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, beautifully integrated acidity, and solid length. It's very much in the style of the 1147 release, but slightly less concentrated and majestic. Elegant, silky, and seamless, yet still with ample power, it's a brilliant 2016 geared for those that love the old-school, classic style of Napa Valley. It will keep for 2+ decades.
