Peake Ranch Chardonnay Santa Barbara County 750mL

Peake Ranch Chardonnay Santa Barbara County 750mL

Vintage: 2020
Description: Anybody who has been in our store asking for California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir recommendations has surely heard us mention the wines of Peake Ranch. This producer has previously been on our domestic "Top Wine" list in both 2018 and 2021, and judging by these new releases, there's a good chance that they will be on the list this year!. Peake Ranch is a boutique, family-run winery owned by John and Gillian Wagner. Like all of us who have visited Santa Barbara County, the couple fell in love with the beautiful countryside and the friendliness of the people. They purchased Peake Ranch with a vision of building a winery and a house on the property, and producing extraordinary wines. They also bring a humbleness and sense of humility, which is honestly quite refreshing. They are already receiving rave reviews from the critics, and considering this is only their sixth vintage, this is an impressive feat!. Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points - "Straight-up gorgeous notes of ripe peach, caramelized apple, flower oil, brioche, and spice all emerge from the 2020 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County, a brilliantly textured, medium to full-bodied Chardonnay with terrific balance as well as length. It reminds me of some of the great Chardonnays coming out of the Russian River Valley with its opulence and richness.". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 93 Points - "Barrel fermented and matured, the 2020 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County opens with matchstick and savory reduction that give way to peach and beeswax aromas. The medium-bodied palate has a delicate core of fruit, bright freshness and a long, creamy finish. 855 cases produced."
