Cacao cocktail bitters produced by Rhum J.m in Macouba, Martinique Botanicals include roasted cocoa beans, peanuts, coffee, sarsaparilla branches, lime zest, vanilla bean, and cinnamon sticks; the cocoa beans are harvested from Habitation Pcoul in Basse-Pointe, approximately three-and-a-half miles from the Rhum J.m estate. Botanicals are macerated in high-proof, AOC Martinique unaged rhum agricole distilled from 100% sugarcane juice at the Fonds-Prville distillery The final maceration is combined with water and cane syrup 48.6% Abv. These bitters were created to evoke communion chocolate, a sweet, spiced hot chocolate served at Martinique festivals, weddings, birthdays, holidaysjust about any event worthy of being called a celebration. Cocoa beans harvested near the J.m estate lend the bitters sumptuous richness while citrus, baking spice, and complementary coconut and sarsaparilla create lift and dimension.
