The Lingua Franca label represents a fine tradition of bringing people of different backgrounds to common ground; to produce Pinot Noir that will rival those from anywhere else in the world. Master Sommelier Larry Stone, world-renowned winemaker Dominique Lafond, and winemaking protg Thomas Savre united their talents upon a property in the Eola-Amity Hills area of Oregon's Willamette Valley, a location diverse in soils that seems to continually produces grapes of uncommon quality. The fruit for "The Plow" bottling comes from the three upper blocks of the property with a layer of large gravels that impart extra energy to the vines and create more complex flavors. Wines grown here are the most balanced and intriguing of the Lingua Franca estate. This gem has earned a whopping 98 points from esteemed critic Audrey Frick (of JebDunnuck.com). Jeb Dunnuck 98 Points - "Refreshing and long on the palate, the 2021 Pinot Noir The Plow pours a medium ruby hue and is expressive but needs time. It has a touch of reduction and would benefit from a decant if opening young. It opens to reveal a beautiful, elegant perfume of rosewater, tangerine, grenadine, and graphite, followed by a pure, medium-bodied red with outstanding energy and a weightless feel while retaining a wonderful tannin structure that will feel angular at first to some. Its long on the palate and is deceiving, as its such a pleasure to taste now. Drink 2024-2040.".
