Querciabella's vineyards on sandy, stony soils on slopes of the Chianti Mountains, at moderately high altitudes for Chianti Classico, make for a house tyle that's driven by an elegance, with lighter color, softer textures, and finessed aromas of crisp red fruits. Some of their plots are on fotthills lower down, with marly soils (a moderately calcareous clay), adding subtle power to the fruit and light tannic firmness to the texture.
