Description: | Sine Qua Non is a pioneering cult Californian estate established by Manfred Krankl, whose incredibly hard to come by wines have a reputation as being works of art both inside and on the outside of the bottles (with his eclectically named and designed labels). In fact, some collectors actually buy these incredibly scarce wines, of which are sometimes just a few barrels are made, for the labels alone. "It is really strutting its stuff now, and showing even better than my original note predicted in August of 2009. The wine has loads of meat, licorice, smoke, charcoal and graphite, as well as huge peppery, blackberry and black cherry notes. Full-bodied, with great acidity, nicely integrated tannin, an admirable mouthfeel and tremendous length." Robert Parker. "Deliciously complex, bold, rich and layered, with dark berry, plum, mocha and spice." Wine Spectator. Please note: bottle shown is for illustrative purposes only (not actual bottle for sale). |
