| Description: | 93 Ws / 92 We / 92 Fs. Beautiful aromas of dried cherry, plum and blackberry, with hints of dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a fruity finish. Balanced and delicious. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2011. 7,500 cases made, 2,500 cases imported. - Wine Spectator. With a small percentage of Merlot for extra softness and plushness, this beautiful Sangiovese-based wine opens with amazing intensity, red cherry, chocolate, spice and leather. The rich, round mouthfeel would pair with creamy porcini mushroom risotto. - Wine Enthusiast. Shiny, intense ruby violet. Very intense, finely drawn nose with rich notes of ripe raspberries, dark cherries, with undergrowth in the background. Lots of firm, rich tannin, builds up powerfully, complex, nice interplay between fruit and power, further storage will certainly only benefit the wine.-Falstaff. |
