Description: | Description: The area's gravel-rich soils creates the ideal growing conditions for a classic, Bordeaux Blanc. Racy acidity, restrained fruit and fresh cut grass are all the characteristics of a really good Bordeaux blanc. Mary Taylor has created a nice portfolio of wines that she selects from other winegrowers - Jean Marc Barthez is the president of a small co-operative winery in the ancient village of Monsegur. The wine displays a pale straw color with green reflections. Aromas of passion fruit and fresh cut grass ( possibly asparagus or green herb) are also evident on the palate. Light to medium-bodied with bright acidity throughout the length of the palate. Long mineral-driven finish of wet stone and gravel. A quintessential oyster wine with all the necessary structure to stand up to richer fish and shellfish dishes. Food pairings: Oysters, shellfish, trout/ swordfish, hors d'oeuvres, basil-pesto dishes, chicken, grilled dishes, salads w/goat cheese, veggie dishes, etc. |
