This juicy, light-bodied expression of Nerello Mascalese comes from the northwest end of the island, around 1100 feet above the coast near Trapani (Sicilian Mascalese excels with altitude). Tangy sweet red fruits with a little zing of mineral and spice like clove, and just a dusting of powdery fine tannin make this perfect to serve chilled ! Pair it with flavorful, peppery antipasti or marinated, seared ahi. Unfined (vegan), and only lightly filtered so as to avoid stripping flavor. Aged in stainless steel. |
