Located 100 miles east of Bordeaux in southwestern France, Cahors is a small town known for its deeply colored reds made from Malbec, or CĂ´t as they are called locally. Mas des Etoiles was established by two students in 1998 during the school year of the wine school of Montagne Saint Emilion. The clarity, juiciness, vibrancy of this wine clearly reflects their modern interpretation of the old-world Cahor. Cahors is invariably tighter and leaner than the rich, opulent style of Malbec being made in the new-found home in Mendoza, Argentina. This Cahors exhibits dark color, meaty, spiced black cherry and herb-tinged aromas and persistent, silky tannins. |
