Bruichladdich 10 yr Bere Barley Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey | Astor Wines & Spirits

Vintage: 2012
Winery: Bruichladdich
Description: Bere is the name for the oldest most ancient strain of cereal known in all of Britain. It is was would have been used for very early whiskies of the region, as it was prized for its quality and complexity of flavor. It is also very difficult to distill and thus is virtually unused these days which makes this annual expression from Bruichladdich even more special. The Bere barley for this batch was sourced from farms on Orkney and distilled unpeated to let that malt character shine through. Aged for ten years and bottled at 100 proof, this is one of the most exciting whisky releases that we wait for every year. It is always worth grabbing a bottle or two. Limited.
