| Description: | The 2016 vintage was a classic vintage in the Napa Valley. Coming out of a long drought, the Estate had ample winter water going into budbreak, and a small amount of rain in the early spring helping complete canopy growth. The weather was cooler than the 2015 vintage, lending towards an optimal bloom in mid-May, but a few heat events throughout the summer helped fruit ripen at an accelerated pace. Starting harvest at the beginning of September allowed us to bring in fruit with natural acidity and balanced flavor profiles, complementing the later picks at the beginning of October, which brought deep color and vibrant aromatics. |
