| Description: | 94 BH. The Combes Aux Moines Vineyards lies at the northern end of the appellation and abuts onto the famed Cazetieres vineyard. Note: from a.5 ha parcel of 45+ year old vines. Tasting note: More restrained and notably cool aromas are comprised of freshly sliced plum, dark currant and pungent earth and sauvage nuances. There is more volume, power and muscle to the bigger-bodied flavors that possess excellent underlying tension, all wrapped in a youthfully austere and very saline-inflected finale. This is excellent and notably more structured; indeed, it will need at least 15 years of cellaring and 20 would not surprise me to reach its full maturity. This is most impressive. Outstanding.
