Tasting note: Moderate reduction suppresses the fruit so be sure to give this some air if you're going to crack a bottle young. Otherwise there is notably better mid-palate concentration to the powerful and muscular medium-bodied flavors that are even less rustic on the bold finale. Outstanding.-Allen Meadows, Burghound. The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fourneaux is showing very well, bursting with aromas of raspberries, cherries, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with ripe tannins and succulent acids, it's deeper and more concentrated, as well as more elegant, than its communal-level counterpart.-William Kelley, The Wine Advocate |
