| Description: | Grape: 100% Chenin Blanc Region: Region: France> Loire Valley> Coteaux du Layon-St. Aubin. Notes: Organic farming, Passerille (grapes dried on the vines). Description: Philippe Delesvaux came to winemaking while studying agriculture on a cereal farm in the Loire Valley in the early 1980's. By 1983 Philippe had purchased some vineyards and began producing some of the most concentrated botrytis affected wines the area had ever seen. A biodynamic farmer using natural yeast to capture the essence of the land. Deep 18K gold color with slow moving legs along the side of the glass (high viscosity). Aromas of dried apricot and red pear skin. Rich, full-bodied wine with good balanced acidity which prevents the wine from being cloyingly sweet. The mid-palate exhibits notes of creme brulee, cantaloupe, pear, and shortbread. Excellent wine for off-dry and sweet wine lovers. |
