McManis Zinfandel
| Description: | Deep Ruby in color, the 2007 McManis Family Vineyards Zinfandel is replete with Raspberry, Blueberry and Blackberry aromas. Oak aging has contributed a bouquet of spice as background to the mélange of fruit. The abundance of mixed berry flavors are wrapped in the rich, creamy wine while the tannins are soft and rounded. Hints of Cinnamon and Clove become noticeable in the finish, as the fruit begins to wane. Region Description. One of California's oldest varietals, this grape actually hails from Croatia. Red Zinfandel makes rich dark wines that are high in alcohol and medium to high in tannin. The can have a blackberry or raspberry aroma, a spicy character and even a jammy flavor. Some Zinfandels are relatively light-bodied and meant to be enjoyed young, while others benefit from aging. |
