Description: | During the warm days of August, with the summer sun rising anew each morning, we yearn for something refreshing, something crisp, clean and vibrant. This wine is it ! Offering an amazing value for its reasonable price point, this Bordeaux Blanc will help keep the sun and soaring mercury at bay. We enjoy Sauvignon Blanc especially in warmer weather, because the grape in and of itself has more acidity than many other white wine grapes-- and this keeps the wine clean upon the palate, fresh in the mouth, and let's face it-- in the heat we want something that won't bog our palates (or us!) down. The elegance of the forward fruits and acidity in this Petit Freylon (aided by 15% Semillon in the mix) brings a wave of refreshment with each sip -- suddenly the summer is even better with this cooling elixir in our wine glass. Chteau Petit-Freylon is located in the village of Saint-Genis-du-Bois, a tiny village boasting less than 100 inhabitants. With a recent change in ownership and investments in the chteau's facilities, the wines have never been better. The attention to detail is something you can taste in each glass. The vineyard at Chteau Petit-Freylon covers 30 hectares, 20 of which are within the Bordeaux Superior appellation. The soils are clay and limestone with an average vine age of 30 years. With such vibrant flavors that trip lightly across the palate, cooling and charming at once, this will be your warm weather go-to this summer! And with a great bang-for-the-buck price, you'll have money left over to pick up charcuterie, mixed cheeses, meats and fresh fruits, to pair perfectly with this prince of a wine!. We are pleased to offer this refreshing summer sipper at the best price in the nation !. With a nose of mixed stone fruits, peach in particular, citrus, tropical fruits and a touch of well water, the palate continues the show, reiterating the citrus and tropical fruits, shifting to white peach and more subtle minerality, as the light acidity in the body keeps this wine focused upward, light on its feet and looking for the stars. |
