A.H. Hirsch âHorizonâ Straight Bourbon 750ml (92 proof)
Description: | Description: Established in 1974, A.H. Hirsch has always been on the forefront of blending high quality bourbons. The Horizon combines two straight bourbons, distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. 94% of the blend is distilled from a traditional mash bill of 75% Corn, 21% Rye, and 4% malted barley aged a minimum of 4 years. The remaining 6% is distilled from a high rye mashed aged nearly 6 years for added complexity. Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but also makes a killer Manhattan. Try it with our Berto Vermouth, and three dashes of our Woodford Reserve cherry bitters. Bourbon Definition: The rules of Straight Bourbon: It must be made with a grain mixture (known as a mash bill) that is a minimum of 51% corn; aged a minimum of two years in charred new oak ( if it is older than 2 years, but younger than 4 years, it must contain an age statement reflecting the youngest bourbon in the bottle). Finally, straight bourbon must be bottled at a minimum of 40% alcohol (80 proof) and contain no added colourings or flavourings. |
