Clos de la Chapelle Corton Bressandes Grand Cru (750ML)
From Corton-Bressandes
Vintage: | 2019 |

Description: | 94 Bh / 92-95 Jm / 92 Ws. Tasting note: Subtle but not imperceptible wood sets off the interesting blend of spice and the sauvage-suffused nose of forest floor, red and dark raspberry and evident earth influence. There is terrific volume to the dense, muscular and powerful large-scaled flavors that retain a good sense of delineation on firmly structured, austere and hugely long finish. This is a classic Bressandes, which is to say a big wine of refinement and power though I underscore that I wouldn't touch a bottle before 10 years have passed. Sweet Spot. –Allen Meadows, Burghound. Yielding 28 hl/ha which equates to just two barrels, of which one is new. 15% whole bunches were retained. Not racked yet. Both the wood and the whole bunches can be detected on the nose, but they work well together. This is quite a substantial wine for Bressandes, but has perfectly kept its balance. Very long finish and impressive purity. Tasted: October 2020. –Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy. Cherry, raspberry and spice flavors mingle in this compact red. This is dense, firming up on the finish, where the dusty tannins and an earthy component emerges. There is nice freshness here too. Best from 2025 through 2042. 50 cases made, 20 cases imported. - Bs, Wine Spectator |
