Andremily Mourvedre Central Coast 750mL

Andremily Mourvedre Central Coast 750mL

Vintage: 2018
Description: Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points - "Another wine that flirts with perfection is the 2018 Mourvedre, and youd be hard pressed to find a better Mourvdre out there. Offering a beautiful freshness as well as powerful notes of black and blue fruits, violets, ground pepper, iron, and a touch of bloody meat, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, ripe, silky tannins, no hard edges, and one heck of a great finish. This powerful, stacked Mourvdre should have 15 years of longevity. The 2018 checks in as 85% Mourvedre, 12% Syrah, and the balance Viognier that was 25% destemmed and spent 21 months in 50% new French oak barriques and 600-liter demi-muids.". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 98+ Points - "The 2018 Mourvdre is a blend of 85% Mourvdre, 12% Syrah and 3% Viognier, coming from Alta Mesa vineyard (Santa Barbara County), Larner vineyard (Ballard Canyon) and Watch Hill vineyard (Alisos Canyon). The wine was vinified using 75% whole cluster and aged for around 21 months in 50% new French oak barrique and demi-muid and 50% used French barrique. The alcohol is 15.6%. "Very deep purple-black, the 2018 Mourvdre leaps from the glass with vibrant notes of wild blueberries, crushed black cherries and mulberries with touches of roses, tar and cigars plus a hint of cardamom. The beautifully crafted, tightly knit, full-bodied palate has a firm, fine-grained texture and lively backbone, finishing long and savory. 400 cases and a few magnums were made."
