The 2020 Albacea is 100% Monastrell from dry-farmed and head-pruned estate vineyards fermented in open-top stainless steel tanks and matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels for four months. 2020 is a great vintage of full ripeness and development of aromas and flavors. This has 14.5% alcohol, a textbook example, fresh and fruit-driven, with grip, fine tannins and a serious profile. It has less oak and especially less toasty notes and aromas. They also introduced some optical sorting of the grapes, even for this price range. |
