| Description: | Wine maker notes Owned and farmed by George Martinelli, This spectacular vineyard sits along Laguna Ridge at the edge of the Green Valley Ava in the Russian River Valley This vineyard was once an apple orchard which is why we chose the name "La Pommeraie" -- French for "the apple orchard" -- to pay homage to the site and its history. This meticulously farmed vineyard is planted with a very high density of 2420 vines per acre. A blend of Dijon 95 and Old Wente Chardonnay selections this complex and powerful wine has an amazing aromatic complexity of citrus blossom, honeysuckle and white peaches, with an opulent texture and layered flavors of candied citrus. |
