Puerta Del Abra Albarino - Balcarce (buenos Aires)

Description: | The Puerta del Abra winery stands out amongst its Argentinian cousins. Its home in Balcarce, southwest of Buenos Aires, is a low-altitude region close to the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by an ancient mountain range. This is a long way (including down) from the Andes foothill region of Mendoza! Here, there's a mild maritime climate, with cooling air flowing from the mountains at night. The wines from Puerta del Abra reflect this place with their naturally mellow, refined characters and balanced alcohol levels. They have a small production, with 7 varieties growing over 30 acres of land! Harvesting is done by hand, not machine. "The 2020 Albario Inslito hails from Balcarce, Buenos Aires Province and is a golden yellow in hue. A mild, austere nose offers white fruit with tropical notes. The flow is creamy with mellow freshness. This is another very distinctive white." - Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous Media Aged 6 months on the fine lees in Stainless steel. "Bodega Puerta del Abra is a personal project of Jorge Perez Companc. In 2013, he made the decision along with his family to follow his dream of making wines with his own style while exploring a different terroir that is far away from the usual places." - Winery Notes |
