| Description: | The vineyard Massara was bought in 1910 from the famous G.b. Burlotto. Located in Verduno, it sits at 265m above sea level with the typical calcareous-clay soils of the area and a relatively small 1.22 hectare area. Well-structured and deeper than lesser vineyards of the Verduno zone, it's nevertheless approachable earlier than other areas of Barolo. "This has aromas of leather, scorched underbrush and camphor. Reflecting the extremely hot, dry vintage, the rather shy, linear palate exhibits dried cherry, licorice and tobacco alongside tightly wound, close-grained tannins.
