Description: | 93 Vm / 93 De / 93 JS / 91 Ja / 91 Fs / 90 Jd / 90 We / 90 Wci / 16 Jr. Second wine of Clerc Milon. 2020 is the first ever vintage released en primeur. The 2020 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is fabulous. Rich, ample and explosive, the 2020 packs a huge punch. A rush of inky dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, spice and mocha builds as this sumptuous Pauillac shows off its immense charm. Merlot takes the leading role. This is a ridiculously gorgeous second wine. Best of all, this should be a tremendous value. -- Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media. Perfumed, raspberry and strawberry fruit, red and floral, pretty on the nose, roses and sweet strawberries. Lithe and supple, this has a nice bounce to it, plump, super-juicy and fun, gorgeous sweetness and plushness to it, round and friendly. Lovely push of red fruits with a hint of herbal medicinal edges at the back and some very soft spicing. You can't help but smile when you drink this. Approachable, very complete and full. A great glass of wine here. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter. Currant and lead pencil. Pure. Peach skin. Medium-bodied with firm and polished tannins and a savory finish. Slightly straightforward, but I like the clarity and brightness. Drink after 2026. - James Suckling. Gourmet black fruits, a touch of cocoa bean and smoked caramel, deepens through the mid palate and shows a more structured style than the early years of Pastourelle. The blend contains grapes from young Carmanère vines from massal selection of the estate's oldest vines. This is the first Pastourelle to be released En Primeur. Caroline Artaud began as technical director in July 2020, so halfway through this vintage, with Jean-Emmanuel Danjoy becoming head winemaker across at Mouton. Harvest September 9 to 28. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Dark ruby, purple reflections, soft brightening on the rim. Fresh red cherries, black forest cherries, fine tobacco nuances. Medium bodied, a fresh acidity, red berries, lemony, subtle tannins, salty in the aftertaste, a lively food companion, already easy to drink.-Peter Moser, Falstaff |
