| Description: | 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay. First created in 1964 as a tribute to the House's founder, this is a stunning, finely textured wine that's as good as champagne gets. It's aged in 25% used oak to give a very subtle creamy texture. It's intense and serious with aromas of cinnamon, toast, dried fruits, crème brûlée, roasted almonds, and hazelnuts. Despite its maturity, it's still very fresh and balanced, rich but with a very mineral texture. Drink now or any time in the next 50 years. |
