| Description: | Diageo has relaunched its Tanqueray Malacca gin following demand from bartenders for the spiced bottling.The Johnnie Walker owner originally launched Tanqueray Malacca more than 20 years ago, inspired by a recipe from Charles Tanqueray that was influenced by the East Indies.Diageo said it was bringing back the expression due to ongoing demand from bartenders and the public.Bottled at 41.3% abv, Tanqueray Malacca will be available as a permanent addition to the gin brands portfolio in Canada and Australia, and will form part of a limited-edition release in the US.Joanna Segesser, Tanqueray global brand marketing manager, said: Tanqueray Malacca has been a cult favourite of bartenders for many years.Its a gin like no other, a uniquely spicy gin with less juniper emphasis than the classic style.We want bartenders around the world to experiment and innovate with this unique and exotic gin that has nearly 200 years of Tanqueray heritage.Tanqueray Malacca is said to have aromas of lime, lavender and jasmine, and a distinctive depth of spice from peppercorn, cloves and rose.Since production of the spirit ceased, vintage bottles of Malacca have commanded high prices at auction â which also encouraged the brand owner to relaunch the spirit. |
