| Description: | Biodynamic Practices. Valfaccenda is a labor of love for couple Carolina and Luca, begun in 2010 on an old estate in a small valley between Canale and Cisterna in Piedmont. A rolling hill away from the famous Langhe region, but wines of a completely different complexion. Their vineyards are not manicured, resulting in a wild, bushy forest feel. The slopes are steep and sandy and produce wines that are pretty and elegant. This Arneis is extremely refreshing but has nice richness that makes it extremely food friendly. Clean, fresh and aromatic expression of this Piedmont native white variety. Brilliant texture and balance. This is terroir wine, with a minimal, traditional touch and biodynamic practices. A small part of the grapes are fermented with the skins for up to 10 days in neutral acacia and oak barrels, while the majority is pressed immediately and fermented in concrete or steel. The wine is neither filtered nor fined. |
