| Description: | Although located north of the village near Pommard, the Fremiet is very Volnaysian in style, on the fruit, but structured. Fine and suave, elegance characterizes it. It also benefits from a few years of aging, which bring even more radiance to its bouquet, typically dominated by red fruits. If the attack on the palate is on the fruit, the final touch is often saline or salty. 91-93 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Glowing mid purple. First to be picked. Much shallower soil than Les Angles but the vines have reached maturity and have coped in 2018. Darker fruit on the palate with a velvet texture enlivened by the little saline/iodine touch at the back. Very good persistence, finesse here." |
