Dragonette Sauvignon Blanc "VOGELZANG" Happy Canyon 750mL

Dragonette Sauvignon Blanc "VOGELZANG" Happy Canyon 750mL

Vintage: 2021
Description: If you've ever had any of the Dagueneau Sauvignon Blancs from France's Loire Valley, then you know those wines are things of beauty. It was over a glass of Dagueneau that brothers Steve and John Dragonette and close friend Brandon Sparks-Gillis decided to leave their jobs at a Los Angeles wine shop and search throughout Santa Barbara's Santa Ynez Valley to find vineyards that could best exemplify the enticing characteristics of this grape. They found those vineyards, and now their Sauvignon Blancs have become some of our favorites in the entire store!. Happy Canyon, with its unique soils and climate - warm to hot summer days and cool to cold evenings - is ideal for promoting full phenolic ripeness while still retaining critical acidity. The organically-farmed Vogelzang is situated on a gently sloping bed of well drained, gravelly loam soil with serpentinite, and Dragonette controls all farming practice, from pruning to canopy management to yield control. Dragonette always does what's needed to help produce the best wines. Only 300 cases were produced, and it's often one of the highest scoring Sauvignon Blancs produced in California!. Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points! - "Unquestionably, some of the finest wines coming out of the Central Coast today emerge from Dragonette, a collaboration between Brandon Sparks-Gillis, John Dragonette, and Steve Dragonette, and apparently, the estate can do no wrong as they consistently fashion incredible wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Rhne varieties, which you dont see often. If you get a chance, dont miss these wines.". "The richest of the three Sauvignons, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard has gorgeous melon, honeyed white flowers, orange blossom, and chalky, mineral nuances to go with a medium to full-bodied, vibrant, beautifully balanced style on the palate. It's clearly the most concentrated and opulent, with a singular style that will benefit from just a few years in the cellar. As with the other releases here, it will evolve for at least a decade if you're so inclined."
