| Description: | Single cask, aged Demerara rum distilled by Demerara Distillers Limited in Georgetown, Guyana, and bottled by Holmes Cay Distilled from 100% molasses in DDLs heritage four-column French Savalle still (svl marque) Aged 18 years in ex-bourbon casks; tropically aged 2 years in Guyana; aged 16 years in Liverpool, Uk With golden honey and a whiff of brine on the nose, the palate starts with overripe tropical fruits and continues with hints of almond, herbs, and a touch of cocoa with light tobacco lingering on the finish No sugar, coloring, or other additives Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 51% Abv If theres one thing rum collectors consistently clamor for, its cask strength, additive-free Demerara rum, and Holmes Cay has delivered in spades with this 18-year-old expression from Demerara Distillers Limited, Guyanas last remaining rum distillery. The French Savalle still was originally installed at the Uitvlugt [EYEflut] Distillery around 1921 but was relocated to Plantation Diamond Distillery in 2000 where it now produces rum for nearly every expression of El Dorados cask aged blended rums. |
