Remy Pannier Vouvray

Remy Pannier Vouvray

Chenin Blanc

Vintage: 2018
Description: The vineyards of Vouvray are planted on a plateau on the north bank of the Loire River. Clay and gravel are common in the topsoil; chalk forms the subsoil, and the small valleys in and around the town of Vouvray are riddled with caves and cellars. Wine maker notes Rigorous low yield control (50-60 hl/ha). Grapes are picked at optimal maturity, and bunches are pressed immediately, followed by low temperature fermentation to preserve tropical fruit flavors and aromas. The juice is protected with CO2 and does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Aged on the fine lees to obtain a rounder texture and stored in stainless steel tanks until bottling maintains the freshness, minerality, and purity of the Chenin grape. Technical notes 11.5% abv. Food pairing Served chilled, this wine is delicious with nuts, foie gras, fish dishes and fresh-fruit desserts. Producer Remy Pannier is the Loire Valley's single largest wine producer accounting for about 15% of all Loire Valley wine production and with markets in over 40 countries worldwide. Since the early 1990s it has been directly owned by an alliance of over 800 grape growers and vineyard owners primarily located in Muscadet Vouvray and Sancerre.
