Cahors, in Southwest France has begun to gain attention in the past year for deep, dark, dense Malbecs, that, while cousins to the vines in Argentina, are completely different animals. Of the three wines we carry from Chateau Eugenie, this is the middle child. A reserve bottling that shows meaty, blue and black fruit, chocolate and spice. This can be enjoyed now with food that has been long simmered, preferably Beef Bourgogne, but will age beautifully for the next several years. Wine Spectator 90 pts. |
