The "grand" in the title was an approbation from Robert McNish's friends in describing the fine quality of the scotch. the "a" in Macnish was inserted as a marketing effort to improve pronunciation in the rest of the international markets unused to the Scottish brogue.MacDuff International was founded in Glasgow, Scotland in 1992 by Stewart MacDuff (who presumably lends his name to the company), Charles Murray, and Ted Thomson--themselves all veterans of the scotch industry. The company was formed to produce blends with the "personal touch" that were an homage to the heritage of Scotland. |
